Reclaiming your Body Series

Sundays at 2pm
April 12 - May 3rd

with Jessie

Join us for this 4 week series ~ attend one session or ALL ~ and reclaim your body from the grip of trauma, stress and stored tension.

In this series we will use the practice of trauma sensitive yoga and educational lecture/reflection to reclaim personal power, autonomy and a sense of ease in the body and mind.

Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is an evidence based practice for trauma, stress of all types and PTSD that emphasizes safety and choice making. This yoga practice uses physical movements geared towards tuning into the internal experience of the participant as a way to create and direct energy. This helps yogis move away from an idea of doing forms “right or wrong” and instead establishes greater sensitivity and autonomy, two states often compromised by trauma and deep stress.

In this workshop, participants and the facilitator will go through 30 minutes of targeted education around elements of TCTSY including: establishing a deep sense of safety, choice making, interoception, and self care, followed by a 30 minute TCTSY practice.

Participation is limited to keep the experience intimate.

Breathwork Pranayama Workshop

Wednesdays, May 13 + 20 at 6pm
with Areta

Join Areta Verschoor (500 E-RYT) for a special two session Pranayama workshop offering.

Our breath is our life force. It is simple, accessible and involuntary, yet when learned and practiced as a tool, these profound breath work techniques will balance the body and mind, as it affects our sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems (Ida and Pingala, our energy channels).

You will learn traditional pranayama principals and practices, how to clear and boost your energy channels by improving the flow of energy throughout your body. These Pranayama practices and techniques will introduce you to new breathing patterns that can reduce stress, settle the mind, and help you create a sense of pure contentment.

“Calmness of the mind can be maintained by exhalation or retention of the breath”
