Breathwork: Journey of Release

Saturday, May 4th from 4-5:15pm
with Meghan Khanna

This is a musical and mesmerizing breathwork practice that's creative, emotional and even a little psychedelic. We'll rely upon a conscious, continuous breath, supported by a powerful playlist and guided meditation, to induce a transient hypofrontality. What the heck is that? It's a slowdown of your conscious mind that makes your subconscious more available for sparks of creativity, problem-solving, memory and inspiration.

You'll tap into neuroplasticity and a clearing of cognitive and emotional blocks. Expect the unexpected, and come with your mind open to a new lens on your performance, relationships and legacy.

Ocean of Devotion: Gong + Sound Bath

Wednesday, May 15th from 7-8:30pm
with Preston Klick

AT CRAWFORD WARMING HOUSE LIBERTYVILLE

Since ancient times gongs have been used as a tool for meditation and prayer. For over 5000 years gongs have announced the arrival of royalty, provided a sonic backdrop to celebrations, and were used to ward off evil spirits. A Gong Meditation is an opportunity to go within, utilizing the gongs soothing, organic resonance to achieve harmony in mind, body and spirit. Immerse yourself in the healing vibrations of the gong sounds. A Gong Meditation will both calm and inspire your spirit.

Join us for this 90-minute acoustic journey with periods of verbal guidance. Preston plays a 36-inch Heart Gong, as well as crystal & Himalayan bowls, ocean & frame drums, Indian swarmpura, chimes, and more to provide a dynamic auditory experience. This richly cinematic musical odyssey-meditation is as beautiful to the eye as it is to the ear, heart, body, mind and spirit.

Join us on this unique musical journey at a special location as we overlook the lake!

Teacher Tune Up: Prop it Up

Saturday, May 11th 1-4pm
with Erin Murphy

Calling all instructors! Tune up your teaching skills with our continuing education series.

This workshop seeks to take the stigma out of prop use in class. Many students feel props are a signal they can't do "enough" of the pose... and thus hesitate to use props.

In reality, props can deepen our experience of yoga in SO many ways. From creating more work and activation, to allowing length and space, even helping us find more sensation or support in a pose. Come explore, play and learn... then take this back to your classes!

Yoga Alliance continuing education credit available.

Teacher Tune Up: The Seat of the Teacher

Sunday, June 23rd 1:30-4:30m
with Erin Murphy

Calling all instructors! Tune up your teaching skills with our continuing education series.

Do you get overrun by nerves when teaching? Maybe you teach a good sequence but your class lacks that certain energy that creates more powerful connection? OR did you do an online training and don't know how to get off your mat and into the room?

SEAT OF THE TEACHER is for you!

We'll look at best practices for managing the energy of the room in a yoga class. How to navigate the highs and lows of teaching. As well as explore techniques to create a more powerful personal energy to share with our students.

We'll combine a bit of lecture with lots of exploration and discussion so you leave with practical skills YOU can apply.

Yoga Alliance continuing education credit available.
